Reaping

Posted : 16 years, 5 months ago on 10 November 2007 01:59 (A review of The Reaping)

Not much of a twist here if you bothered to actually watch the whole thing. Too similar to others in the genre to stand out. Hillary Swank better find a pair of boxing gloves fast if she plans to redeem herself from this nightmare.

Deja Vu

Very interesting new age sci-fi thriller. On one hand, time travel has been beaten to death inside the movie genre, but on the other, this seemed very fresh. Kept me on the edge of the seat the whole time. A must see.

Bug

Posted : 16 years, 5 months ago on 7 November 2007 10:11 (A review of Bug )

Um, wow. One word, disturbing. Ashley Judd and Michael Shannon put on some of the best performances I have ever seen. You can't tell me there was no way she had a script for the ending of that movie, simply brilliant. I can't believe this was adapted from a play. I didn't love it, but I have been thinking about it ever since...

Hitcher

Just about the same plot structure as about 5 other films that were released in the same time period, the women gets away as the hero...which, is extremely ridiculous. The original was so much better.

Primeval

Posted : 16 years, 5 months ago on 7 November 2007 09:49 (A review of Primeval)

Dual killers walk the plains of Africa in this thriller. One giant crocodile emerges as the local legend as an infamous serial killer while his creator walks among political upheaval. Lake Placid did it better the first time...

Wild Hogs

Posted : 16 years, 5 months ago on 7 November 2007 07:49 (A review of Wild Hogs)

Wow, this movie wasn't funny at all. What was funny however was seeing 4 fading Hollywood stars try to resurrect their careers via midlife crisis cross country motorcycle rides. It was a little to real for those actors and not funny to me.

Thug

Posted : 16 years, 5 months ago on 7 November 2007 07:23 (A review of Tsotsi)

I spent the first half of the movie trying to figure out if the lead character was a girl or guy. But once I got around that issue, the story on the surface did little if anything for me. It was the underlying meaning of Tsotsi's internal struggle that I took away from this one.

War at Home

What movie during the 80's didn't feature the cast of Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner and Danny DeVito side by side. This one was not good though.

Ex

Zach Braff is the worst actor in Hollywood. His movies are worse.

Halloween in August

Posted : 16 years, 7 months ago on 5 September 2007 07:55 (A review of Halloween)

Rob Zombie is a genius with his character development. Not only does he introduce Michael Myers as a child, he takes the original movie's focus on Lori Strode and redirects back onto what should have been the main character all along, Michael Myers. I love both equally, but the rebirth is by far the gorier and more disturbing.
