I think my age group was completely left off the target audience in this film. Unfortunately, the death of an actors career (Chevy Chase) is usually preceded by lame movies like this. Maybe some 15 years ago, I might have enjoyed it a bit more.
PS real Snow Days involved shoveling driveways for enough quarters to head over to the arcades and play Contra all night.
Target Audience...Not Me.

Suitable Title

Vin Diesel's character may be intriguing, but did this performance really deserve a sequel? The storyline is very weak, it is typical science fiction horror with lame pterodactyl-like creatures. The title is suitable, there is not much more than darkness seen throughout.

Nothing Special

This may have been a much anticipated adaptation, but for those unfamiliar to the story, Serenity fails to do more than entertain for a couple of hours. The mystery surrounding River (Summer Glau), is intriguing but the story fails to develop her character throughout the movie. As for the rest, the cast delivers a little quirky humor, good action and exploit the plot (conspiracy) in a traditional Hollywood happy ending.

Chronicles of BAMF

The movie that caused controversey in Vin Diesel's acting career may have gotten this film more publicity than it deserved (he did not want to do the film but signed a contract to do a sequel before filming Pitch Black). Regardless, Vin Diesel is one badass motherf*cker (BAMF) and the action sequences largely support the stigma of his character. The plot is a little thin and I have some problems with the overall "story" (or lack there of) as I just couldn't comprehend the point and how it relates to Pitch Black. As an action film, it is what it is, very entertaining, but don't look for much more than face value.

Copacabana

Kevin Spacey is the genius behind this biographical gem of crooner Bobby Darin. Spacey wrote, directed and performed all the music in a movie that showcased more than just his talent, but truly revealed the life and struggles of Darin. Kate Bosworth plays a beautiful role as Sandra Dee.

No Grand Finale

Two for the Money had all the excitement and suspense of a Fourth of July fireworks event lacking a grand finale. The suspenseful buildup left little more than a fizzle by the film's end, leaving as always another happy Hollywood ending. Al Pacino is Al Pacino at his best, but Matthew McConaughey's character transition from Brandon Lang to John Anthony and back is pure talent. The film will engage and keep your interest throughout, but don't read into and expect more than you see.

Cliche

Fun With Dick and Jane was anything but funny. It may have had its moments, but above anything it was a heartwarming attempt to slap big business in the face. Talk about a cliche, big business Hollywood hires an egomaniacal Jim Carrey for $20M to portray a Robin Hood-like ending only to have credits rolling out thanks to Enron, WorldCom etc., go figure.

Fools Gold.

Peter Fonda is no 'Easy Rider' in this movie, in fact I don't even think he was awake during filming. This may have been one of, if not, the most boring films I have ever seen. I honestly don't think there was a point to this film, where was the plot, where was the drama, where was the acting, where was anything? Ulee's Gold? More like Ulee's Fools Gold.

Rough Roads

Two counterculture bikers go cross country in search of American tradition. The adventure bridges the gap between the cultural shift from the 1960s to the 70s and portrays the harsh realities of American life and its segregation from one state to the next. Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper are a perfect on screen duo riding the highways to their ultimate demise.

Pleasantly Surprised

Pleasantville is an interesting look into the cultural advancement of society with the introduction of modern life. The storyline (especially the ending) may be a bit trite, but the imagery and creativeness of the film's transition from black and white to color is pretty remarkable.
