Leviathan

Leviathan is the underwater version of "The Thing/The Blob" where Peter Weller and his crew battle battle a mutagen 16,000 feet below the Atlantic. Its also got a little bit of an "Alien" feel as well with the whole futuristic theme. Not bad, but not great.

Echoes of Darwinism

Set in the 1800s, a naturalist marries into a family of British aristocrats and attempts to educate them on Darwin's modern theories of evolution. It is unfortunate the story is overshadowed by a typical love affair.

Ravenous

Ravenous is a fast paced dark comedic thriller with a riveting performance from the delusional Robert Carlyle. Guy Pearce tells the disturbing tale of cannibalism during the Mexican-American War. The ending sequence is a bit creepy, but this film is a must see.

North Country

The story uncovered the real life hardships of women trying to earn a living in a male dominated environment, and for that I appreciate this film. However, Charlize Theron is a bit overrated and her performance shows it. Frances McDormand steals the spotlight.

Little Nicky

Oh Adam Sandler, why can't you just be yourself. You in character is about as awful as sitting through an entire episode of Richard Simmons' Sweatin' to the Oldies.

Why?

One is good, two is bad. Why did they feel the need to revisit the original? It was nice that they pulled together the original cast, but the comedic originality of the first is what made it good. There is nothing left in the second.

Tiny Surprise

As awful as it may sound, I actually kinda sorta liked this one. John Travolta and Kirstie Alley are a great on screen couple and the comedic originality behind the baby talk is pretty refreshing.

Suitable

Hey, Jean-Claude Van Damme, try getting an accent coach before you try to convince me you are a midwest outlaw looking to do what is right. A suitable title if you went to the theater to watch this film, do yourself a favor and forget about this one.

No Chemistry

Ashton Kutcher plays himself, naive and dumb, in this romantic comedy. Kutcher and Brittany Murphy blend like oil and water, like clorox and bleach, like...well you get the point.

Disappointment

What a disappointment. I thought this was going to be a desert adventure a la Indiana Jones or the recent film Sahara. Instead we got to watch a weirdo Giovanni Ribisi save a group of travelers with child like mechanics.
