Ali

Posted : 18 years, 1 month ago on 5 November 2006 07:55 (A review of Ali)

Will Smith turns in his oscar worthy performance, but was the story interesting enough to warrant that? I say no. I am not a big fan of biography movies as they really don't capture the interest that comes with good fiction. Typically they end up being "good movies" but will I ever remember them? No. It's like watching a movie in highschool history class, I'd rather be watching it than listening to a teacher lecture, but either way I am still not going to remember anything.

Horror Mastermind

Posted : 18 years, 1 month ago on 5 November 2006 07:48 (A review of A Nightmare on Elm Street)

I sat next to Robert Englund at the bar yesterday and let me tell you, those eyes could still give me nightmares. What has become a horror cult classic, A Nightmare on Elm Street sits well in any tep ten horror list for a reason, it preys on what every viewer fears the most, nightmares, where your biggest fears can come without warning. Freddy Kruger will always remain one of the most recognizeable horror icons in the business.

Mr. Personality

Posted : 18 years, 1 month ago on 5 November 2006 07:39 (A review of A Man Apart)

This is the role Vin "Mr. Personality" Diesel was meant to play, and he plays it well. Expect good badass action in this "what you see is what you get" saturday night thriller.

Where Did My 15 Minutes Go?

Posted : 18 years, 1 month ago on 5 November 2006 07:33 (A review of 15 Minutes)

15 Minutes was about all I needed to see to realize how bad this film was going to be. Not even Robert Deniro could save this one. Karel Roden is about as awful a villian as the concept behind the movie. And honestly, I was suprised to see Edward Burns in anything other than a romantic drama/comedy.

Mos Def

Posted : 18 years, 1 month ago on 5 November 2006 07:17 (A review of 16 Blocks)

Mos Def is proving a successful transition from musician to actor is not as difficult as having to carry a stutter and Bruce Willis on his back. Mos puts on a spectacular performance and outshines his onscreen partner Willis.

D-Fens

Posted : 18 years, 1 month ago on 4 November 2006 04:46 (A review of Falling Down)

Michael Douglas captures so dramatically a character that evolves into a vigilante by succumbing to the pressures of everyday life. Overall, the movie is a little lacking on supporting cast and drama, but Douglas turns in one of the best acting performances I have seen, making it worthy of a view.

Sun Shines

Posted : 18 years, 1 month ago on 4 November 2006 04:29 (A review of Little Miss Sunshine)

This is one of the best films I have seen in the theater all year. A superb dark comedy that successfully combines real life drama with the quirky comedies that fall in between. A must see.

Bad Movie

Posted : 18 years, 1 month ago on 2 November 2006 08:16 (A review of Bad Santa)

Bad Santa? More like "Bad Movie." However, Billy Bob Thorton turns in a breakout performance playing the role he knows best, himself. A degenerate drunk thief playing father figure to an innocent kid is very fitting for the holiday season. Watch Thorton spread the joy of Christmas as Santa Claus and follow along not knowing whether to laugh or cringe.

Tiny Tim Allen

Posted : 18 years, 1 month ago on 2 November 2006 12:40 (A review of Christmas with the Kranks)

Another hilarious, heartwarming, holiday adventure from Christmas career veteran and convicted cocaine addict Tim Allen. Honestly, the only thing more phony than Tim Allen are the people who smile through this movie with their kids. Stick to the big three this Holiday: A Christmas Story, Christmas Vacation, and Home Alone, and don't kid yourself into believing its time for a change, look at what happened to "Tiny career Tim" Allen.

Bring Back the 80s...Please!

Posted : 18 years, 1 month ago on 1 November 2006 10:20 (A review of Daddy Day Care)

Remember when Eddie Murphy was funny? Self-proclaimed family man Eddie Murphy is proving that you don't have to be "Raw" to make a successful movie. With Hollywood straped to his fanny pack, Murphy has molded himself into the quintessential kids movie enthusiast. And aside for his family, Murphy has also become a role-model for actors like Vin Diesel (The Pacifier) who want to turn their careers around (ha ha). With that being said, look no further than Daddy Day Care for your fun night at home.

PS - I am being cynical, the movie sucked.
